Plate and Structural Steel can be called as cut structural and plate scrap or P&S scrap. This type of material can be found in building construction, demolition, and electric arc furnace casting and foundry material.

Plate and Structural Steel must include clean open hearth steel plates, structural shapes, crop ends, shearings, or broken steel tires. It must not contain more than 0.05 percent phosphorus or sulphur.

Plate and Structural Steel properties are classified based on the respective ISRI codes.

  • ISRI Code 231: The dimensions must be at least ¼ inches thick, while not more than 5 feet long and 18 inches wide.
  • ISRI Code 232: The dimensions must be at least ¼ inches thick, while not more than 5 feet long and 24 inches wide.
  • ISRI Code 236: The dimensions must be at least ¼ inches thick, while not more than 3 feet long and 18 inches wide.
  • ISRI Code 237: The dimensions must be at least ¼ inches thick, while not more than 2 feet long and 18 inches wide.
